On May 6th and 7th 2026, SUZAH hosted the 3rd Transnational Meeting within the scope of the project Self Determination Academy (SDA), financially supported by Erasmus+ programme. The main goals for this meeting were to discuss the course implementation and its results, as well as to structure the Europen Guide for Advocates and Self Advocates (EGASA) and other project products.
During the meeting, implementing partners (SUZAH, Inovar Autismo and AsIAm) shared the main lessons learned and the key challenges in implementation, as well as the presentation of the results and its impact and a comparison of each country’s outcomes. Implementing partners also addressed the national seminars, sharing their programmes, participants, discussions and experiences or, in some cases, how the plan for the national seminars is going.
The structure of the European Guide (EGASA) was also discussed, setting the path for the actual work on this product, as well as the dissemination and media tracking. In the end, a summary of the next steps, such as responsibilities and deadlines for the future were defined.
One of these next steps is the planning and implementation of an International Seminar, which will take place in Brussels and will be hosted by Inclusion Europe. The seminar will bring together partners, young people, professionals and stakeholders to share the project’s results, experiences and good practices regarding self-determination, self-advocacy and inclusion. Stay tuned for more information about the dates, programme, speakers and participation opportunities! We look forward to continuing this journey together and giving even greater visibility to the voices and rights of people with disabilities.
